Introduction and Purpose

Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities (GrEEn) is a four-year joint project from the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana, the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and SNV. The project is implemented in the Ashanti and Western regions of Ghana. GrEEn will contribute to addressing the root causes of irregular migration by supporting sustainable and climate resilient local economies in regions of departure, transit and return. You’re requested to complete an application form for consideration, in order to be selected for the GrEEn intervention. Once selected, you will be required to provide additional detailed information about yourself and your business. This form is intended to seek your consent before any data is collected on you and your business.

Voluntary Participation

Your completion of the questionnaire is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the process for any reason, at any time without explanation. However, if you decide not to complete the questionnaire, your application will be cancelled, and you will not be considered for participation in the GrEEn Project. You can however reapply at a later date if you reconsider your decision not to participate in the survey. Your Application is not a guarantee that you will be selected. There is a process for selecting participants based on the eligibility criteria, individual interviews and a due diligence exercise. If you meet the eligibility criteria and are successful in the interview you will be invited to join the programme. If you do not, you will be informed that you have not been successful.

Assurance of Confidentiality/Anonymity

I/you will read the questions on the application form. The information you provide will be entered in a secure database which is compliant with the Data Protection Act of Ghana (Act 843); it is also compliant with the European Union’s ‘General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679’. GrEEn will use digital data collection apps such as Google Forms, Akvo Flow and SurveyMonkey to collect data. Once the data is submitted, only authorised persons can access it to ensure that your personal (and business) information are safe. If you are selected to participate in the incubation, we will collect more detailed information from you which will be entered into the same secure database. In addition, we will ask you to, on a quarterly basis, provide us with information on your business after you have completed the incubation programme so that we can understand how the programme has benefited you. We may also contact you to participate in additional surveys, interviews or focus groups during the training and up to four years after your training has ended.

The data we collect from you will be combined with those of other applicants, participants and non-participants. When the data is combined, it will be anonymised, and the information you provide cannot be directly linked to you. The information will only be used for reports and publications related to the Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities (GrEEn) Project.

The GrEEn project wishes to collect information about all funders of 'Green and Circular Economy' companies and projects in Ghana and beyond. GrEEn project will include the data gathered through this form in an online platform that facilitates entrepreneurs’ access to the right type of capital, and allows investors to get exposure to promising green business start-ups in the Western and Ashanti Regions of Ghana.
